Mugwort aka Artemisia Vulgaris

Good day! The plant getting all the attention today is: Mugwort.

The Latin name of this plant is Artemisia vulgaris.

Mugwort is yet another member of the daisy family (formal name Asteraceae), and is most recognizable by the silvery underside of its leaves. This plant is considered what is called an emmenagogue herb, meaning it stimulates blood flow in the pelvic area and uterus. Because of this, it can be helpful for women looking for relief from menstruation symptoms like pain and cramping. Mugwort is also considered a mild nervine, which makes it helpful in easing anxiety and lessening nervous system agitation. The bitter compounds in the leaves also help improve digestion and gut health.

The most interesting thing about this plant: smoking mugwort or drinking mugwort tea is known to intensify and enhance dreams. If you're someone who tends to not remember your dreams, maybe give mugwort a try for a couple weeks and see if you notice any changes in your sleep and ability to remember your dreams!

Have a magical day,
Jenny

PLANT INGESTION WARNING!
As with all herbs and plants you plan to ingest, never ingest them before doing your own research and/or talking with your doctor - it’s possible that medications you take or health conditions you have could have a negative effect if paired with red clover. Better safe than sorry!
